It has been an honor to lead the Cornerstone School community since 2013. It is hard to believe our school started in 2009 with just three classrooms. Today our school offers five vibrant classrooms led by a team of talented and dedicated staff who share our core values.
At Cornerstone School, we believe early childhood education is so much more than learning letters and numbers. It is children learning about themselves and others in the community. It is expanding empathy and learning how to care for the needs of others. It is learning to wait your turn and to choose a second choice while you’re waiting. It is solving problems creatively and resolving conflicts peacefully. It is developing healthy self-esteem based on actual accomplishments, not artificial praise. It is celebrating our strength and learning how to recover from defeat.
The Cornerstone experience provides children with opportunities to develop these tools through play-based activities alongside thoughtfully designed lesson plans as part of the “Creative Curriculum”. Cornerstone families are a vital part of our diverse learning community. Our families enhance our curriculum by sharing their time and talents in the classrooms and through their active participation in our special events. It is a joy to see lasting friendships forged at our school by both children and their families alike.
I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our school and our community. I invite you to contact us to schedule a tour and answer any additional questions you may have. We are always excited to share our love of Cornerstone with others!
